Local business owner seeks Conservative nomination

Ken Brown, a retired local Georgian Bluffs resident, has declared his candidacy for the Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound (BGOS) Conservative Party nomination.

Ken was raised on a dairy and sheep farm in Bruce County and currently owns and operates two local small businesses with his wife Tammy, who grew up in Wiarton.

“I am immensely honoured and humbled to announce my candidacy to seek the nomination for the
Conservative Party of this great riding and its residents. I have always loved being in the service of others, and what a fantastic way to continue that!”

Ken clearly knows and understands the entire region and the issues that are important to the people who live there and is connected to them, whether it be through Agriculture, Small Business, Hunting & Fishing, Tourism or Economic Development.

Ken has been actively involved with many local community committees in Bruce and Grey Counties, as well as the political boards of the BGOS Conservative Electoral District Association and the BGOS Ontario PC Association.

Ken continues to serve and put others first.  “I am extremely proud of my upbringing on the farm in this region and the person it has made me today. It has ingrained in me an immense work ethic that I apply to all things in my life, including my dedication to my family, community volunteerism, continual education, career, and friends. No matter where I have traveled in the world, I have always promoted the beautiful Bruce-Grey area and the awesome people who live here.”

Retired from a global career in the petroleum industry and a construction career in Ontario managing
hospital construction projects, Ken is well versed at collaborating with very large diversified teams to
get things done.

He has also worked in extremely difficult places, such as Iraq, for the betterment of the people. Ken is purpose-driven and brings vast experience and life skills, some of which include; Leadership, Policy Development, Public Speaking, Stakeholder Engagement, People Management, Business Acumen, Facilitation and Empathy, to find solutions.  “I will put these skills to work for you as your representative!

Ken holds a Bachelor of Applied Technology Degree in Petroleum Engineering from SAIT Polytechnic,
a Civil Engineering Diploma from Georgian College, a Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from
the University of New Brunswick, a Certificate in Change Management from the University of
Colorado, the Leadership & Facilitation Program from the esteemed Banff Centre for Arts and
Creativity, as well as numerous other education and training in Leadership, Project Management and
Safety.

Ken will be holding future “Get To Know Him” social events as well as communicating some strategic
solutions he has for issues across the entire Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound riding.
