Pet of the Week: A beautiful hound and a successful fundraiser

Grey Bruce Shelter offers a safe place for pets who have no choices left.
“Sometimes, their owners have had no choice either. They, too, may have aged and had to move into a facility where their loved companions are not allowed or, in the final step of life, may have died leaving their pets behind,” says Shelter Manager, Deb Takeda.  “Whatever the reason, these faithful friends have no choice but to wait … wait for someone new to take them in and love them.”

This week’s favourite is Lola … the nine-month-old who’s a real sweetie.  Spayed and up-to-date on all her shots, she is a July Walker hound and, like most hounds, can be somewhat vocal and, therefore, should not find a home in an apartment.  A fenced yard with active family would be perfect but, preferably, should not be included with small children or cats.  She does have a bit of separation anxiety so family commitment is important.

To meet Lola, call and book an appointment at 519-372-1911.

“We also want to thank everyone for an incredibly successful yard sale weekend!  More than $3,000 was raised for the Shelter and we want to thank all the volunteers, donors of goods and the shoppers of course!!  Thanks to everyone,” says Shelter Manager Deb Takeda.
