“Jake is an example of why we are here,” says Deb Takeda, Manager of the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.
Jake is a little, adorable eight-year-old Shih-tzu who was surrendered to us along with his best buddy, Paddington the cat, after their owner passed away.
He has several medical problems and is continuing to be assessed and, hopefully, he’ll make a full recovery. Currently, he is being fostered in Takeda’s own home while he is being treated. “Unfortunately, since this photo was taken, the poor little guy had to have an eye removed as it ruptured due to a very deep ulcer. Our fingers are crossed for the little guy.”
In spite of everything, Jake remains cheerful, well-mannered and affectionate.
“He is a really lovely little soul!”, adds Takeda. “Ideally, we would like to see he and Paddington go together to a loving home.”
