Patient and family advisors bring lived experiences and meaningful insights to improve care experiences at all of our sites. Brightshores Health System is seeking volunteers to join the Patient and Family Advisory Committee.
“The perspectives of patient and family advisors help us to provide care that is thoughtful, respectful and effective,” said Beth Morris, Vice President, Clinical Programs, Quality and Chief Nursing Executive. “Their partnership helps to ensure our services reflect the needs of patients and communities of Grey Bruce and guides our efforts to create a more patient-centred experience.”
Over the past year, advisors dedicated over 500 hours of their time, lending their voices and experience to dozens of projects — including advising on the Emergency Department experience, guiding quality initiatives and patient communication.
Brightshores is looking for individuals who:
-
Have recent experience as a patient, caregiver, or family member at Brightshores Health Services within the past three years
-
Value collaboration, diverse perspectives and improving healthcare in their community
“We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply,” said Jodi Holden, Manager, Patient Relations. “The more diverse voices we have at the table, the stronger and more inclusive our system becomes.”
Patient and family advisors are helping to shape the future of care at Brightshores. A detailed report highlighting their impact is available on our website, showcasing how feedback has informed policies, enhanced patient experience, and guided care improvements at Brightshores.
To apply to be a patient advisor, please complete the volunteer form on our website: Patient Advisors – Brightshores Health System
