On October 8th, The Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital Foundation took the opportunity to recognize all staff at the Owen Sound Hospital and Wellness and Recovery Centre as Healthcare Heroes for National Heroes Day.
The recognition is part of the Foundation’s Healthcare Hero Program, which gives patients and families an opportunity to recognize a Brightshores staff member or department that has made a meaningful difference in their healthcare journey.
“On National Heroes Day, we wanted to recognize everyone. There are so many people behind the scenes and at the bedside who make a difference every single day, and we wanted them to know how much they are appreciated,” said Amy McKinnon, CEO of the Brightshores Owen Sound Foundation.
As part of the celebration, Pizza Hut Owen Sound generously donated a coupon for a free medium pizza to every staff member at Brightshores Owen Sound and the Wellness and Recovery Centre. The generous offer was another meaningful way to recognize the people who work tirelessly to care for patients, support families and keep Brightshores running.
“We are proud to support the Healthcare Hero program and happy to give back to the dedicated staff who do so much for our community every day,” said Hardik Soni, owner of the Owen Sound Pizza Hut.
Pizza Hut Owen Sound is the ongoing community partner of the Brightshores Owen Sound Foundation’s Healthcare Hero Program. Through the program, when a staff member or department is recognized three times through Healthcare Hero nominations, Pizza Hut provides the department with a pizza party lunch.
“We really appreciate Pizza Hut Owen Sound wanting to be part of our Healthcare Hero program and helping us celebrate all of our staff on National Heroes Day,” said Amy McKinnon. “Their support is such a thoughtful way to recognize our healthcare workers. Whether it’s a free pizza for an individual staff member or a pizza party for an entire department, it’s a great way to say thank you.”
