Due to hot, dry weather and a high risk of fire, Arran-Elderslie Fire & Emergency Services has issued a partial open air burn ban, effective immediately.
This ban will stay in place until conditions improve.
The ban includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• Burning brush, wood, or yard waste
• Burning old buildings or structures
• Agricultural or industrial burning
• Use of burn barrels
• Fireworks and sparklers
All Open-Air Burn Permits are now suspended. No new permits will be issued.
What is Still Allowed:
• Small, supervised campfires used for cooking or warmth in approved fire pits
Safety Reminder: If you have a fire, always keep a shovel, water (bucket or hose), or a fire extinguisher nearby.
