Bruce Power a premium sponsor of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada festivities in Owen Sound this week

Bruce Power is proud to be a premium sponsor of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada, helping to put several activities on ice this week in Owen Sound.

While Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada will be nationally broadcast live by Sportsnet on Jan. 21, the festivities begin in Owen Sound on Jan. 18 and continue through Saturday, with all seven Canadian National Hockey League teams in action.

Bruce Power is providing an opportunity for 300 schoolchildren from across Bruce and Grey counties to skate with the Stanley Cup and meet NHL alumni on Wednesday, January 18th. The company is also sponsoring the Celebrity and Alumni Classic at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 20th, which will feature many former NHL stars and Sportsnet personalities.

Bruce Power will also be on location at the Outdoor Festival at Harrison Park from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 21st. This event includes a Stanley Cup parade, opening ceremony, hockey clinics, kids shinny, public skating, and a live television broadcast with Ron MacLean, host of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada on Sportsnet.

“The game of hockey is woven into the fabric of our communities and we’re proud to help bring Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada to our region,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Many of our employees and community members are involved in playing, coaching and volunteering to the hockey organizations in our area and we’re committed to being an active partner in helping bring our communities together.”
