Bruce Power has committed $1 million to Bruce County’s recently announced affordable housing project on Walkerton’s east ridge.
“The 41-unit new build will provide much-needed affordable housing for Bruce County families,” said James Scongack, Bruce Power’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice-President. “We know how important affordable housing is to communities across our region and the leadership demonstrated here by the County of Bruce and the Municipality of Brockton made us want to be a part of the project. We commend the County of Bruce for its leadership on this project and we look forward to watching each phase of the process.”
Luke Charbonneau, Warden for the County of Bruce, said the new affordable housing project will be a welcome addition to Eastridge Road, in Walkerton.
“Having these 41 new units in Brockton is going to make a difference in the lives of people in this community and right across our county,” the warden said. “We want to thank Bruce Power for its $1 million commitment to helping make this project a reality.”
