For the 10th consecutive year, Bruce Power has been recognized by Canada’s Top Employers for Young People as a national leader in providing high-quality workplaces and programs for young people starting in their careers.
The Canada’s Top 100 Employers project 2021 Top Employers for Young People list has recognized the company for its focus on young employees through career development programs and opportunities, the on-site North American Young Generation Nuclear (NAYGN) organization, and for developing future employees through its development student, summer student, and internship programs.
Now in its 19th year, Canada’s Top Employers for Young People is an editorial competition that recognizes employers offering the country’s best workplaces and programs for young people starting their careers. Winners of the competition are chosen by the editorial team at the Canada’s Top Employers project on the basis of the programs and initiatives they offer to attract and retain younger workers. These include benefits such as tuition assistance and co-op or work-study programs. The editors also examine each employer’s mentorship and training programs, including benefits such as bonuses paid on completing trades or professional designations. The editors also review each employer’s career management program, looking for initiatives that help younger workers advance more quickly in the organization.

Cathy Sprague, Bruce Power’s Executive Vice President, Human Resources, said the company’s long-standing place on the list is a reflection of the company’s success in providing opportunities and support to pursue a variety of roles and advance their career in the nuclear industry.
