Port Elgin Home Hardware has come on board for the Gran Fondo Lake Huron cycling event that is exactly one month away from today on August 19th.
The Gauthier family, owners of the store, have donated $1,000 toward the after-cycle luncheon and will also be providing a flatbed truck to act as a stage for the entertainment.
The Gran Fondo Lake Huron cycling event features four scenice routes of varying lengths of 30km, 70km, 110km and 160km that all start in Southampton. It’s a chance to take in some of the most scenic vistas along with Lake Huron shoreline from the advantage of a bicycle.
The event is a major fundraiser for Saugeen Memorial Hospital equipment with every dollar raised going to the goal of $150,000. “Everything else to do with the race is being graciously covered by our many sponsors,” says Sally Kidson, Executive Director of the Hospital Foundation.
