In his first ever appearance in beautiful Southampton Ontario, Glen Foster is bringing big laughs back to the Bruce.
Glen has been one of the top headliners in Canada for over three decades. He didn’t just work the road, he’s one of the guys who helped to build it. Glen appeared in his first one-hour comedy special, “That Canadian Guy” in 2000 and, since then, the moniker has stuck. Many of his fans, don’t even know his actual name, but they do know “That Canadian Guy” is one of the funniest and cleanest comedians anywhere.
Glen recently appeared in his second one-hour Comedy Network special and has also performed on numerous other television shows including seven appearances with CBC’s, “Just for Laughs”, as well as “The Winnipeg Comedy Festival”, “Halifax Comedy Festival”, and “The Mike Bullard Show”. He is a weekly guest contributor on the Sun News Network and he can also be heard frequently on CBC Radio’s “The Debaters”.
Since moving to Niagara Falls in 2007, Nottingham born David Green has established himself as a staple in the Canadian entertainment scene. He would prefer to be a paper clip. Armed with quick wit and a dry British humour rumoured to be more refreshing than a moist towelette, his creative wordplay and silly stories always leave audiences wanting more. Some call him brilliant, some call him odd, some don’t call him at all. The loss of his phone has proven to be somewhat problematic.
Sponsored by Rob Butchart, Sales Representative with Coldwell Banker, the Saugeen Shores Comedy Festival is in its fourth year but is coming later in the season than in years past.
Organizer Blair Streeter says “there is just too much going on in the summer in Saugeen Shores, between baseball banquets and weddings we could’t find a venue. We put it off so more locals will be available to attend. That’s who we’re putting the shows on for, we might as well bring it to town when people are available.”
Shows are on Friday, November 2nd at Southampton Town Hall and Saturday the 3rd at Chester’s in Port Elgin, Friday’s show will showcase a few professional comics doing their best sets and door prizes from local sponsors, Saturday’s show will feature some local and up-and-coming comedians in a looser format show.
20% of online-sales from Friday’s show to be donated to Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce Tickets are available at Cathy’s Flowers N’ Treasures in Port Elgin and online at www.saugeenshorescomedy.com
