Durham Hospital site expanding outpatient services

Beginning this month, new outpatient services will be offered at the Durham hospital site including a Cardiology clinic supported by Dr. Gerard Shoemaker and Dr. Lorne Gula from London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), and pediatric mental health services supported by Keystone Child Youth & Family Services.

In January 2026, a hip and knee replacement clinic (pre- and post-operative) will begin in Durham, supported by Dr. Douglas Naudie, an orthopedic surgeon from LHSC.

“There is a very high demand for all of these services in our area, so this will be a welcome addition not only for the Durham site, but for the entire region,” says Nancy Shaw, SBGHC President and CEO. “We are thrilled to be able to support the delivery of these specialized services closer to home, minimizing travel for patients and families.”
