Provincial Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce, announced today, January 8th, that public school boards will be able to make local decisions about whether or not to proceed with the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) Grade 9 Mathematics Assessment scheduled that were to begin next week.
“Due to the on-going provincial labour action involving the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (OSSTF), Bluewater District School Board is postponing the EQAO Grade 9 Mathematics Assessment scheduled to begin next week, to ensure that we provide a positive environment that supports success for our students,” said a Bluewater representative.
The assessment has been postponed and will be rescheduled for students to write in June, 2020.
