Heather Little is being honoured with an Oncology Exam Room plaque in recognition of fundraising over $65,845.13 for the Oncology Unit in Owen Sound.
For the past few years, Heather Little has been receiving treatment in Owen Sound after being diagnosed with colon and liver cancer.
Heather says her health team have moved mountains for her. “Helping Dr. Sandhu and all the staff in the unit, by letting them help others, is truly the best way I can say thank you,” Heather explained.
Heather set a goal of raising $50,000 to celebrate her 50th chemo treatment. With the support and love of her #HeatherStrong community Heather was able to raise $65,845.13. The donations will help provide comfort and care to Oncology patients in Grey Bruce. Heather has achieved this milestone by telling her story, selling #HeatherStrong merchandise, and organizing events for friends and family. Heather has also been a big part of the successful Radio for Oncology the past two years.
“We are happy to be able to recognize the amazing fundraising efforts of Heather and her #HeatherStrong community. Because of passionate individuals, like Heather, sharing their story and supporting local healthcare the Owen Sound Regional Hospital is able to provide critical care close to home” expressed Amy McKinnon, CEO Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation.
