Hydro One crews working to restore power

More than 13,000 customers were affected by power outages due to yesterday’s high winds throughout southwestern Ontario.

Hydro One is reporting a number of scattered power outages in Bruce and Grey counties this morning, following the strong wind gusts in the region yesterday.

Crews are currently responding to several isolated outages on the Bruce Peninsula in addition to outages in the Owen Sound and Sauble Beach area.

With the outages on the Bruce Peninsula, the following schools are closed:

Peninsula Shores District School (Wiarton)
St. Edmunds Public School (Tobermory)
Bruce Peninsula District (Lion’s Head).

Estimated complete restoration times for most outages is approximately 3:00 p.m. today (Sept. 23).
