Local junior bowlers, out of the Sunset Family Fun Centre in Port Elgin, recently took part in the Southern Ontario Provincial Singles Championships held in Brantford.
Eric Berg Placed 1st and will be representing Southern Ontario at the National Championships May 1-3 in Oshawa, Ontario.
Eric will be representing Ontario for the second time in four years (the last 2 were cancelled for Covid-19 reasons).
All the young bowlers made their mark in the standings:
Bantam Girls Division – Kaitlyn Irwin placed 18th out of 28
Bantam Boys Division – Benjamin Fredericks placed 28 out of 34
Junior Girls Division – April Virtue placed 18 out of 63
– Raven Hamacher was 4th out of 63
Bantam Boys Division – Kelvin Gottschalk placed 24 out of 62
While bowling in a championship tournament is serious work, today Saturday morning (Dec. 18) it was more about having fun when they wore their PJs on Pyjama bowling day.
