Pet of the Week: It’s Pet Adoption week

This week, March 24th – 30th, is a celebration for furry, and non-furry friends.  It is ‘Pet Adoption’ week.

There are many reasons why little ‘critters’ are looking for new homes.  While puppies and kittens are cute beyond belief, there are those older pets who are looking for a forever home to live out their lives and be a companion.

Owners, too, may have aged and had to move into a facility where their loved companions are not allowed or, in the final step of life, as they age, for many it can mean a heart-breaking time when they have to give up a life-long friend, a pet. Whatever the reason, these faithful friends have no choice but to wait … wait for someone new to take them in and love them.
Sometimes too, however, they come from very unusual circumstances that are unfair for anyone, human or otherwise.

There are several facilities in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties and beyond that provide temporary homes, but it is those permanent loving homes that are needed.

During ‘Pet Adoption’ week, why not consider taking in a new family member and adopting a loving pet.

Each week, ‘Pet of the Week’ introduces pets from the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.

This week’s sweetheart is Azlan.  A  one-year-old handsome orange and white DSH.

Although Azlan is super friendly and good with other cats, he can be a little bossy but, with that colouring, attitude is everything!

He is vaccinated and neutered. Please call the shelter at 519-372-1911 for an appointment to meet Azlan.
