Saugeen Shores: One of Canada’s Best Places to Live

The community of Saugeen Shores has once again made the list of Canada’s Top 25 Best Places to Live. Ranking 14th on the national list, Saugeen Shores has moved up three spots since 2017. The ranking puts Saugeen Shores ahead of other Ontario cities including Toronto (16), Newmarket (23), and Whitby (25).

“It’s great to see our ranking increase,” says Saugeen Shores Mayor Mike Smith. “We live in a wonderful community and our high ranking confirms what we already know – that Saugeen Shores is the best place to live.”

The Top 25 list, produced by MoneySense each year, ranks 415 Canadian communities based on the categories of wealth and economy, affordability, health, weather, commute, crime, taxes, demographics, culture and community, and amenities. Saugeen Shores scores within the overall top 10 in the category of Wealth and Economy, and within the top 25 in the Commute category.

“We are the fastest growing community in Bruce County, “says Mayor Smith. “Our economy is booming and we are well positioned to continue that growth into the future.”

Saugeen Shores also ranks 6th on the Ontario list of Best Places to Live, placing the town just above Toronto (7).
