Two local Grey Bruce OLG winners

Irvin Pfeffer of Clifford is celebrating after winning an ONTARIO 49 second prize worth $50,000 in the February 3, 2021 draw.

Irvin, a retired construction worker, said he was out getting groceries when he decided to check his ticket. “The machine started chiming – I was watching but wasn’t sure what was going on. When I found out how much I won I was happy!”

Irvin said he knows exactly what he is going to do with his winnings. “I just bought a new truck the week before my win, so I will pay off my truck,” he smiled.  The winning ticket was purchased at The Bare Necessities on Patrick Street in Fordwich.

Donna Gallant of Tiverton was dealt a winning hand in the February 19, 2021POKER LOTTO draw. She matched five of five cards to win $100,000.

Donna said she loves to play POKER LOTTO ALL IN, MEGA DICE and WHEEL OF FORTUNE. “I check my tickets at night – I compared the cards four times. It was about 2:30 a.m.! My heart felt like it would explode. I was so shocked!”

Donna texted her son asking him to call her when he woke up the next day. “He called and asked me what was going on and I told him I think I won. I sent him a photo of my ticket and he confirmed it. He said it couldn’t have happened to a better person,” she smiled.

Plans for her win include a new wood stove for her home, as well as some new doors. “I’ll also enjoy having this boost to my nest egg. When the pandemic is over, I’d like to treat myself to a weekend in Niagara to play Bingo and have a little fun,” she concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Tiger on Goderich Street in Port Elgin.
