Brightshores Health System Owen Sound Foundation celebrated another successful year for the Caring for Tomorrow Endowment Fund yesterday, presenting its $680,000 contribution to Brightshores Health System for new medical equipment, facility improvements, research and clinical staff education for 2024/25.

“The contribution we’re able to make today from the Endowment is only possible because of supporters with a vision for better hospital care close to home,” said Foundation Chair, Morag Kloeze. “Gifts to the Endowment come in all shapes and sizes and it’s wonderful to see all these investments in the future of the hospital pay off.”
Donations to the Caring for Tomorrow Fund are invested. The annual income earned supports the hospital year after year. Its General and Emerging Needs Funds support high priority medical equipment. In addition, 30 named and special purpose funds have been established. Their individual contributions towards the total disbursed were as follows:
With the disbursement for 2025, the Endowment has now provided more than $9 million to Brightshores Health System since its first $20,000 contribution in 1998.
Today’s $680,000 cheque will help purchase suction units for crash carts, 6 new Urology cameras, blood gas analyzers, 2 new procedure beds for Ambulatory Care, plus other equipment and improvements across the hospital. $13,500 of the total will assist nurses and clinical staff with continuing education and training.
“My team and I are thankful for the dedication of our foundations and the generosity of donors,” said Ann Ford, Brightshores Health System President & CEO. “These contributions have a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our communities.”
A gift to the Endowment is something almost anyone can consider. Give now with cash or securities, or later, through your Will, RRIF plan or life insurance. Your legacy will help ensure future generations get the care they need, when they need it, close to home.
