Canadian Big Band Celebration kicks off with fundraising night of music

A capacity crowd enjoyed the Canadian Big Band fundraising kick-off


The Canadian Big Band Celebration held a FUNdraising evening of jazz, blues and big band music that featured Juno Award winning pianist and vocalist Tyler Yarema.

The evening held at Southampton Golf and Country Club on Thursday, May 3rd, was hosted by Charlie Bell on saxophone and his group of Jack McFadden on bass and Steve Wood on drums, who played to a capacity crowd.

The event was a fundraiser for the upcoming 24th annual Big Band celebration to be held on the weekend of September 7th – 9th.

Another fundraiser will be held on Saturday, September 1st at Southampton Town Hall presented by Performing Arts of Saugeen Shores (PASS).  It will be a play made up of stories of those residents who remember the summer dances that took place at the shoreline dance halls of a bygone era.
