During National Nursing Week, Brightshores is shining a light on our more than 800 dedicated and compassionate nurses who care for patients and families across all of our programs and services in Grey-Bruce.
This year’s theme of National Nursing Week is “The Power of Nurses to Transform Health.” This national recognition highlights the excellent care that nurses provide every day across the country.
“Recognizing the care our nursing teams provide goes beyond one week,” said Beth Morris, Vice President Clinical Programs, Quality & Chief Nursing Executive “I have the privilege of seeing the impact of nursing care every day at Brightshores. Our teams have unwavering dedication to patients in our hospitals. Their compassion, knowledge and leadership are making a difference to each patient we care for.”
Today, May 12th, we also celebrate Indigenous Nurses Day. This day recognizes the crucial role that First Nations, Métis and Inuit nurses have in the healthcare system. Indigenous nurses’ leadership in providing culturally safe and inclusive care to patients is inspiring to those around them.
National Nursing Week is a time to honour and celebrate the commitment, expertise, and compassion of nurses at Brightshores, across Canada, and globally. Whether they are at the bedside, leading teams, advancing research, mentoring new nurses, or supporting those in need, the contributions to our communities have a lasting impact and truly transform lives.
At Brightshores, our diverse nursing team is made up of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, clinicians and nursing students. Every one of these individuals is contributing to the care for patients in Grey and Bruce counties.
We invite our community to join us in thanking our dedicated nursing teams this National Nursing Week.
