Port Elgin man a winner

We have a winner! The 4 of Spades was selected in the Week #8 draw so Week #9 has officially begun!

Garry Maguire of Port Elgin is taking home $566 for his Week #8 Draw win! The progressive jackpot is now sitting at an estimated $6,500 and is expected to grow over $7,000 for Week 9, as tickets are sold! Funds raised will support the purchase of an MRI system at Owen Sound Regional Hospital.

In the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation office, there are now 44 playing cards individually sealed in manila envelopes on display. These envelopes are numbered from 1 through 52, with numbers 2, 6, 12, 16, 17, 19, 35 and 42 no longer in play. Nobody knows which envelope contains the Ace of Spades – until the lucky winner catches it!

The MRI in the Owen Sound Regional Hospital is used over 10,000 times per year on patients from across Grey and Bruce to diagnose a range of medical conditions. Tests done with the next generation of MRI technology will be faster, quieter and more comfortable for patients, and will provide physicians with higher quality images to aid in more accurate diagnoses.

Catch the Ace tickets can be purchased at the following hospital foundation offices: Owen Sound, Meaford, Wiarton, Southampton, and Markdale during posted hours. For a list of other locations selling tickets, visit and follow @CatchTheAceGBHS on Facebook and Twitter.
