Saugeen First Nation business comes to a standstill

Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday September 21st, Saugeen First Nation (SFN) and Council are on a two-week break until October 5th.

Based on recommendations by SFN Elders at today’s Council meeting (Sept. 20) the relationship between the Chief and Council is not harmonious and, therefore, the Elders feel that a ‘cooling off’ period is required.

Former Chief and SFN Elder, Vernon Roote said, “Upon the request of our Elders, we need a two-week cooling down with our Chief and Council.”

During the two-week break, there will be no business conducted.
