Saugeen Shores impaired driver involved in two-vehicle collision

On May 5, 2023, at 5:18 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision along Highway 6 in Georgian Bluffs Township.

Officers responded to the scene with members of the Inter Township Fire Department and Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

One of the involved drivers displayed signs of impairment. A 43-years-old from the Municipality of Saugeen Shores was charged with Operation Causing Bodily Harm and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on June 22, 2023, to answer to the charges.

The other involved driver was air lifted to a London hospital for treatment of serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) unit attended to assist the Grey Bruce OPP with the traffic investigation.

Highway 6 was closed around the incident location for the protection of emergency responders. It is currently open to traffic.
