Two in custody following high school stabbing incident in Flesherton

On March 9, 2023, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Grey-Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an injury at a local secondary school in Flesherton. It was reported that a student had been stabbed and required medical attention.

The student was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two students have been taken in custody. The investigation is ongoing and is considered isolated. School officials have taken steps to notify parents of the incident.

In an update, OPP report that a 15-year-old student from Southgate Township has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code. Further, a 16-year-old student from Grey Highlands was charged with Attempting to Obstruct Justice, contrary to the Criminal Code. Both accused are scheduled to appear in Youth Court at a later date.
