Shoplifters get away with high-priced wine

On February 16, 2024, at approximately 5:40 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Police (OPP) were dispatched to a shoplifting occurrence that took place at a business on Highway 10 in Dundalk.

Three individuals were in the store inquiring about the cost of a bottle of wine. All three males left the store and the employee noticed that four bottles of Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon valued at $109.95 a bottle were missing. The individuals departed Northbound on Highway 10 in a black Dodge Ram with Ontario licence plate ending in 514. If anyone can identify the individuals in the photos to please contact the OPP.

On February 16, 2024, at 10:23 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling Highway 6 in Georgian Bluffs when they observed a vehicle upside down in the ditch.

As police were speaking to the driver, the driver was displaying signs of impairment. The driver provided a sample of breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD) which registered a fail. The driver was transported to the OPP Detachment in Wiarton for further testing.

A 22-year-old from Georgian Bluffs was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on March 7, 2024.

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.

On February 17, 2024, at 2:10 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Southgate Sideroad 41 in the Municipality of Southgate for a report of an altercation in a vehicle, and the passenger was kicked out of the vehicle.

The OPP attended and spoke to the driver of the vehicle who confirmed that a physical altercation took place therefore the passenger was kicked out. No injuries were reported. As police were speaking to the driver, they were displaying signs of impairment. The driver provided a sample of breath into an Approved Screening Device (ASD) which registered a fail. The driver was transported to the OPP Detachment in Teviotdale for further testing.

A 25-year-old female from Chesley was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
·      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on March 7, 2024.
